The Tovi bag is handmade in Finland out of industrial waste leather. This is also known as pre-consumer waste or post-industrial waste. It is the material left over from the production of products, in this case leather furniture. The material can be cutting leftovers, roll ends, overproduction or otherwise rejected materials. What unites these waste forms is that it never ends up to the consumer and is therefore never seen by the public. There is always 10-30% of the fabric that is cut away and discarded during the cutting process. These rejected or leftover materials are not damaged in anyway, but are too small for certain industries such as the furniture industry to use. That is why small design brands such as RunoDesign use these materials.
The Tovi bag comes in all black and white/black leather. Find the other products from RunoDesign here.

Use an old pillowcase or cotton bag to prevent dust from accumulating during off-season storage. Storing handbags in plastic bags will encourage mold and mildew growth. Stuff bags with tissue paper when not in use so they will keep their shape. Avoid hanging handbags. Store the bags upright or lie flat to preserve the shape.
Please remember that use and exposure to sunlight will cause the leather to darken over time.
Try to keep your leather product dry. Leather is a permeable material, so water, and other liquids may stain.
If your leather product is exposed to water, wipe it dry with a clean cloth straight away and allow to dry slowly at room temperature. Never expose to direct heat as this may cause the leather to dry too quickly, which could result in hardening or cracking. If necessary, reshape the item using newspaper or similar while drying.
When using products to clean or restore leather please test on a small inconspicuous area first.
If metal fastenings are being cleaned, care should be taken to protect leather from chemicals and polishing rags.
