The Tovi bag is handmade in Finland out of industrial waste leather. This is also known as pre-consumer waste or post-industrial waste. It is the material left over from the production of products, in this case leather furniture. The material can be cutting leftovers, roll ends, overproduction or otherwise rejected materials. What unites these waste forms is that it never ends up to the consumer and is therefore never seen by the public. There is always 10-30% of the fabric that is cut away and discarded during the cutting process. These rejected or leftover materials are not damaged in anyway, but are too small for certain industries such as the furniture industry to use. That is why small design brands such as RunoDesign use these materials.
The Tovi bag comes in all black and white/black leather. Find the other products from RunoDesign here.
