The navy cardigan is a part of the niinmun´design collection which is based on sustainability and ethics. Garments are named after the finnish archipelago, because that is where the collection was born and is inspired by aesthetically. Many garments are named after islands and places in the archipelago such as Aspö, Korpoström, Seili, Väsby, Maggholm and Sandholm. The collections are not based on the seasons, but the products are timeless pieces made of high quality materials and last from year to year. Based on these ideas, the collection was designed and created. Only high quality natural materials are used and the clothing is mainly made in Finland. The collection comprises of cardigans, dresses, skirts, tops, trousers and other accessories for women in muted colours like white, grey, navy, blush pink and black.
All fabrics in the range have been certified by the Oeko-Tex standard 100, which guarantees that no harmful chemicals have been used that are irritating to the skin. Supply partners are selected on the basis of sustainable and ethical principles and they demand the same from their own subcontractors. Niinmun´design uses green energy at their own premises in Korppoo. NIINMUN`DESIGN also received the Design From Finland trademark license for all of their products in 2016 and garments are sewn around Finland. For the sake of the environment, niinmun does not use plastic in their packaging. Clothes are packed in tissue paper and in a recyclable cardboard box. Cutting waste is utilised in their smaller products and the rest is given to companies, associations, schools and kindergartens in need. Returned products are carefully checked. Mostly, and thanks to their responsible customers, the clothing is still sellable. The rest are sold at events for a discount or given to charities.
The clothes are designed to last from season to season and all year round. The collection is timeless and has a long life.
