All Kudokko items are made of 100% linen knitted in the designer’s studio in Oulu, Finland. The Amono jacket comes in four different colours. The linen yarn comes from Lithuania, the oldest manufacturer of linen yarn in the country. Kudokko linen knits are always washed and air dried before they are sent out. The designer uses soap nuts to wash the knits.

Linen production is almost zero waste, as flax roots are so long that almost 100% are utilised and leftovers like flax dust can be used for wall insulations. The seeds provide oil for dyes, paint, cosmetics and floor coverings. The by-products of linen production are processed into a pulp used for banknotes or fiberboard. Flax does not require irrigation during growth and needs little or no chemical treatment. Linen fabric is 100% biodegradable and recyclable. The environmental impact of spinning and weaving flax is virtually zero. The extraction of flax fibers is mechanical, so no chemicals are needed in the process. As linen garments are said to get better and softer with age and each wash, having and cherishing a linen garment for a long time is desirable.

The Amono jacket is a part of a collection of linen knits such as scarves and cardigans. Find the full collection created by Kudokko here.

Care Instructions

Linen repels dirt and does not require washing frequently, often just airing it out is enough! When it is time to wash it, wash the knit by hand in warm water or gentle wash at 40c with gentle spin. The first wash, especially the dark shades, can still discolor, so wash only with the same shades and use liquid detergent.

If you washed the knit by hand, you can roll the knit inside a towel and squeeze the majority of the moisture into the towel. After washing, shape the knit and put it to dry. You can also steam the knit. Forget the dryer – linen dries quickly. Also, avoid drying in direct sunlight, the color may fade. After washing, the knit will take shape again and become silky soft. Keep knit loosely folded. If your knitwear is in need of care or repair after frequent use, please contact us for out care service and we will repair your knit for a small fee.
