The Jelena mini hihake in blue is made of 100% merino wool and therefore requires careful wool care.
Taking good care your knit wool material last even longer and doesn’t burden the environment. Merino wool works in all seasons. Wool is a unique material that adapts to body temperature and is easy to take care of. Naturally curly merino wool fiber is airy and insulates well, as well as feels nice against the skin.
Care: Wool repels dirt by nature. By airing the knitwear in fresh outdoor air the wool material takes care of itself and wrinkles disappear.
Washing: Wool does not need to be washed often. When the knitwear gets dirty, it is recommended to wash it by hand on plentiful luke-warm water or to use high-quality wool wash program. Liquid wool detergent is recommended. Squeeze the knit under water softly to remove dirt. Use large amounts of stable temperature water for washing and rinsing. Wool does not like temperature shocks.
After washing tap excess water to bath towel. Reshape the knit on drying rack or other airy surface. Never dry on hot radiator or direct sun light, as it can weaken the fibre or change the colour. The knit can be lightly steamed after the wash, but it is not necessary. Wool knit becomes wrinkle-free when aired outside in humid air.
Storage: When storing for longer time wrap the clean knit into silk paper and store in plastic bag to protect against pests. Good way to keep pests off is to use cedar wood pieces or a bag of lavender.
Reparing: If the knit catches something and loop of yarn pulls out, do not cut it. Instead use a needle to pull it back into the knit.
